Auditions will be held at Alumnae Theatre, 70 Berkeley Street
(SW corner of Berkeley and Adelaide; W of Parliament. Toronto)
 
Synopsis: This is a dark farce that revisits fairy tale characters in a modern, feminist context. The play is funny, fast and will have an improv quality to it. This reading is in preparation for a longer run. We plan on a few early rehearsals, then some intensive work just before the performance.


ROLES

Gran (60 years old) - owner Forest Bar, charming, funny, fast-talking fraudster

Red (35) - Gran’s grand-daughter and business partner in the Forest Bar,

Goldie Lockett (36) - rich, downtown lawyer, married to Big Bear

Cinders Rockingfiler (23) - Park Avenue ‘princess’, shoe/foot fetishist

Snow White (40) - fast-lane, fast-talking, operator arbitrage and offshore

Narrator (50) narrator - MC working at the Forest Bar

Prince (25) - dancer, - Princeton dropout, shoe salesman very sensitive

Hands (25) dances as ‘Copper’ - recently paroled

Wolf (40) - dancer, - short order cook , struggling single parent,

Woody (40) dancer, - casual labor / painter

Jack (40) - the Giant Killer, formerly danced as the ‘Marine’

Farm Boy (20) - newly hired, dancer
